A dedicated server, reserved entirely for one customer

A dedicated server, also known as a bare metal server, is an entire machine reserved for one customer. The processor, memory, and storage are not shared with other customers. Install the operating system and applications to suit business needs.

CPU: 32 cores, 64 threads—all yours

One AMD EPYC 7543P processor is assigned entirely to this server, with no resources shared with other customers. The operating system manages process scheduling, application concurrency, and virtualization resources.

Memory: Dedicated ECC memory

ECC memory can detect and correct single-bit errors. DDR4-3200 ECC RDIMM is available in 128GB and 256GB configurations, dedicated to the server's operating system, database cache, and application processes.

Storage: Two independently connected NVMe drives

NVMe is a protocol for accessing SSDs over PCIe. The two included 1TB drives connect directly to the server, without shared storage or a hardware RAID controller. Storage layout depends on the operating system configuration.

Connect to Linux over SSH or Windows over RDP; credentials are available in the console. SSH provides encrypted remote login, while RDP is a remote desktop protocol.View connection guide

Hardware specs

Two configurations, same server specifications

Both configurations use the same processor and included drives; only memory capacity differs. Choose based on persistent processes, database cache, and planned virtual machines, with room for the operating system and business growth.

Storage and redundancy

Two directly connected drives; configure redundancy independently

Two included 1TB NVMe drives, no hardware RAID

RAID combines multiple drives into an array for redundancy or striping. This server has no hardware RAID controller, so each drive appears separately in the operating system. The included 2TB usable capacity is the combined capacity of both drives, not the capacity after RAID-1 mirroring.

Included drive 11TBDirect-attached
Included drive 21TBDirect-attached
Optional drive 12TBAdd as needed
Optional drive 22TBAdd as needed

Add 0–2 optional 2TB NVMe drives. Optional drives also connect directly and are not part of a hardware array. Allocate application data, logs, and backup staging across drives based on workload; separate drives alone do not provide redundancy.

Included: 2×1TB · Add up to 2×2TB

Three ways to set up your own redundancy

Customers manage their own systems and data. Mirroring helps protect against drive failure, while offsite backups keep a separate copy of data. They address different risks and can be used together.

  • Software RAID

Create drive redundancy in the operating system—for example, use mdadm to mirror two directly connected drives in RAID-1. Confirm the target drives and data migration plan before setup.

  • ZFS mirror

Create a two-drive mirror in a ZFS pool, using checksums and snapshots to manage data. Mirroring reduces usable capacity, so do not calculate it by adding both drive capacities.

  • Offsite backup

Sync copies of data to separate storage and test the restore process. Mirrors and snapshots on this server are not a substitute for independent backups.

Bandwidth and IP addresses

Three unmetered bandwidth tiers; IPv4 billed monthly per address

Choose one port speed tier. One dedicated IPv4 address is included, with more available as needed.

Bandwidth: three port speed tiers

Unmetered traffic does not mean unlimited speed. None of the bandwidth options has a traffic quota; the port speed tier sets the maximum transfer rate. Choose based on peak workloads and data synchronization needs.

IPv4: one dedicated address included

Add up to 255 more, for a maximum of 256. Additional addresses are billed monthly per address and can be configured for public services, fixed egress, or virtualization workloads.

Use cases

Four common workloads

A dedicated server suits workloads that require independent management of the system and data. Consider memory, drive redundancy, port speed, and IP address count—not just core count.

Virtualization hosts such as Proxmox

AMD-V (SVM) and NPT support nested virtualization, allowing a virtualization host to run inside a virtual machine. Multiple IPv4 addresses can support services hosted on VMs. Allow enough memory for the host and its VMs.

Nested virtualization · multiple IPv4s

Databases and middleware

ECC memory supports database buffers, caches, and persistent processes; directly attached NVMe handles log and data file I/O. Plan database replication, backups, and recovery testing separately at the application level.

Cross-border services

A Tokyo data center and dedicated IPv4 addresses can support services for users across Asia-Pacific. Actual performance depends on users' networks and routing; test from target locations before launch.

Windows workloads

Windows Server licensing is billed monthly with the server. Connect over RDP using a remote desktop client. Check application requirements for version, dependencies, and licensing separately; customers manage their own system backups.

FAQ

Four common questions before ordering

Are the two included drives configured as RAID-1?

No. The two 1TB NVMe drives connect independently, with no hardware RAID, for 2TB usable capacity. To mirror them, configure software RAID or a ZFS mirror in the operating system.

Can memory be upgraded after deployment?

No. Memory cannot be upgraded on the same server after deployment. To move from 128GB to 256GB, order a separate 256GB server.

Do bandwidth tiers have traffic limits?

250 Mbps, 1 Gbps, and 2 Gbps are port speed tiers. All three are unmetered; choose one tier.

Which IPv4 address should I use to connect?

Connect using the first address shown in the console. Configure any remaining addresses in the operating system or virtualization host.

Deployment and access

From ordering to login: two guides

Configuration and payment determine the order details. After delivery, find server credentials in the console. Deployment and first-time access are explained separately; actual status is shown in the console.
