Monthly Windows Server licensing

Windows Dedicated Servers,
with Standard and Datacenter Licensing

The license is added to the server’s monthly total.

Editions & languages

Two editions, three release years

Choose a release year based on application compatibility, then select Standard or Datacenter for the workload. Every combination is available in English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese.

Available Windows Server editions
Release year Standard Datacenter
2019 Windows Server Standard 2019System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese Windows Server Datacenter 2019System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese
2022 Windows Server Standard 2022System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese Windows Server Datacenter 2022System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese
2025 Windows Server Standard 2025System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese Windows Server Datacenter 2025System languages: English / Traditional Chinese / Simplified Chinese

Select the Windows Server edition and language during configuration. Before deployment, verify that application, driver and database versions support the selected release.

License pricing

License cost is added to the server cost

The prices below are monthly add-ons for Windows licensing, not the full server rental. Choose the release year and language from the options above.

Windows Server Standard

Choose 2019, 2022 or 2025. The license is added to the monthly cost of the selected server.

+$25/month

For Windows workloads selected to meet application compatibility requirements. Check the application’s own licensing requirements before ordering.

Monthly license add-on

Windows Server Datacenter

Choose 2019, 2022 or 2025. The license is added to the monthly cost of the selected server.

+$32/month

For hosts running multiple Windows virtual machines. The deployment must comply with the licensing terms for the selected edition.

Monthly license add-on

Monthly total = server plan + additional drives + bandwidth add-ons + extra IPv4 addresses + Windows license. All charges are in USD; available payment methods are listed on the configuration page.

From monthly total to amount due

Cost breakdown for a Standard server

Example: 128GB server with standard drives and bandwidth, including 1 IPv4 address. No additional drives or IPs are selected; Windows Server Standard is added.

AMD EPYC 7543P · 128GB $454 Based on the 128GB server’s monthly price. Includes 32C/64T, 128GB DDR4-3200 ECC, 2×1TB NVMe direct-attached storage, 250 Mbps unmetered bandwidth and 1 dedicated IPv4 address.
Windows Server Standard +$25 Windows Standard license: $25/month. This example includes no other add-ons.
Monthly total $479

Server $454 + Windows Standard $25 = $479

Semi-annual billing: 6 months

Amount due = monthly total of $479 × 6 months. No discount.

Due for 6 months$2874

Monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual billing cover 1, 3, 6 and 12 months, respectively. If the server plan or add-ons change, recalculate the monthly total before multiplying by the selected term. No setup fee or contract.

Choose a deployment for the workload

Assess business workloads and virtualization hosts separately

Both dedicated server plans use an AMD EPYC 7543P with 32 cores and 64 threads, and offer 128GB or 256GB of memory. Memory cannot be upgraded on the same server after provisioning; a different tier requires a separate order.

Windows workloads

For applications, services and background tasks that depend on Windows Server. Check which releases the software supports, then choose a system language and verify installation requirements.

Application access rules, service account permissions and system updates are managed by the customer. Remote administration is via RDP.

Check compatibility first

Hyper-V host

Plan CPU, memory and disk resources for virtual machines based on workload needs. Datacenter is suited to hosts running multiple Windows virtual machines.

Manage updates, security policies and backups separately for the host and each virtual machine. Verify licensing eligibility against the planned deployment and VM count.

Plan host resources

SQL Server and other databases

DDR4-3200 ECC memory and direct-attached NVMe storage support database and middleware deployments. Choose a memory tier based on buffer pool needs, connection load and other services.

The prices on this page include only the listed Windows Server license, not licenses for SQL Server or other application software.

Remote access after provisioning

Use the first IPv4 address for RDP

Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) is used for routine remote Windows administration. After provisioning, find the server address, username and initial password in the server details in the console.

  1. 01

    Open server details

Sign in to the console, open the server list and select the relevant server to find its first IPv4 address, username and initial password. No default username is specified here.

  2. 02

    Connect via RDP

Open the built-in Remote Desktop client, enter the first IPv4 address as the destination, then sign in with the credentials shown in the console. If multiple addresses are assigned, connect using the first one.

  3. 03

Secure the server after first login

Change the initial password after signing in, then configure the firewall and remote access scope for the workload. Select English, Traditional Chinese or Simplified Chinese when ordering.

Direct-attached storage and data protection

Two separately provisioned NVMe drives; configure redundancy yourself

The standard setup includes two 1TB NVMe drives, each directly attached, with no hardware RAID. The combined advertised capacity is 2TB; the drives are not mirrored. Usable capacity after formatting depends on what the system reports.

Plan disk usage first

Use the drives separately for the system, applications or data, or configure redundancy to suit the workload. Data is not automatically copied between independent drives.

Add 0 to 2 additional 2TB NVMe drives. Each is directly attached and not part of a hardware array.

No hardware RAID

Plan mirroring and backups separately

Windows Storage Spaces can be used to create a mirror. Mirroring affects usable capacity, so confirm the disk layout and recovery process before storing production data.

Mirroring is not a substitute for off-site backups. Separate backup and recovery plans are still needed for accidental deletion, application failures and account security issues.

Customer-managed redundancy and backups

Back up data before reinstalling the system or changing storage. The customer manages the system and data; hardware and network requests can be submitted through a console ticket.

Configure a Windows Dedicated Server

Choose memory, drives, bandwidth and IPv4 options, then select a Windows Server edition, language and billing term. Availability is subject to the live status shown in the console.
